The 2026 Summer Reading Program begins Tuesday, June 9th and ends Saturday, August 15th.
The Summer Reading Program is a free and easy way to stay reading, engaged, and having fun this summer. Join us for special programs and reading incentives for all ages!
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Sign up for the summer reading program at the library and pick up a reading tracker! The reading program starts June 9 and ends August 16. Children, teens, and adults can earn rewards and prizes for reading!
Halfway prizes will be available for pick-up starting Monday, July 6. Finisher prizes will be available for pick-up starting Monday, August 3.

Summer Kick-Off Party with BOTH LIBRARIES: Tuesday, June 9 at 11:30AM - 1:30PM
Join Miss Bethany and Miss Tori after school at Marion Park for popsicles and games to start the summer! From 11:30AM to 1:30PM, Miss Bethany and Miss Tori will be hanging out at the park. Stop by, pop some bubbles, play at the park, and get signed up for summer reading at both libraries. If there is inclement weather, please visit us at either or both libraries to get signed up!
Summer Finale Party: Saturday, August 15 at 10:30 AM
Celebrate a summer of reading at the library! Have fun with crafts, games, and much more! Don’t forget that August 15th is the last day to turn in your summer reading for prizes!
Children’s Reading Program – Ages 0-12
- Sign-up at the library starting Tuesday, June 9 to pick up your reading log.
- You can choose to track your summer reading by minutes or books.
- If you choose minutes, your summer reading goal is 12 hours
- If you choose, books, your summer reading goal is 50 books.
- ALL TYPES OF READING COUNTS! You can read a book, listen to an audiobook, or read out loud!
- Starting July 6 earn halfway reading rewards for 6 hours or 25 books and enter your name in the grand prize raffle.
- Starting August 3 earn finisher reading rewards for 12 hours or 50 books and enter your name a second time in the grand prize raffle.
- The last day of the Summer Reading Program is Saturday, August 16.
- The final prize drawings will be on the week of August 18th.

Absolute Science Fantastic Foam Show: Wednesday June 17th at 1PM
- This show will even make your hair stand up! Experience items disappearing in clear liquids with our refraction oil and see the power of a Van De Graaff generator. LOTS of foam with fantastic foam experiments!
Geared for all ages! No registration required.
Ms. Lisa & Uncle Butzie: Wednesday June 24th at 1PM
- Meet Uncle Butzie the Turkey Vulture! Learn more about bird rescue and Turkey Vulture research with Ms. Lisa. See Uncle Butzie live at the library! Geared for ages K-5th. No registration required.
Dinosaur Dimensions: Monday July 6th at 1PM
- Have you ever wished you could see dinosaurs in real life? Curt is bringing a number of life-like animatronic dinosaur puppets for kids to see up close. This is a joint program that the George and Ruth Culver Libraries are hosting at the Culver Community Park building.
Zoozort: Wednesday July 15th at 1PM
- Join licensed animal educator Noelle Bezio of Zoozort for a hands-on interactive program featuring live animals from around the world!
Fun for all ages! No registration required.
Teen Reading Program – Ages 12-17
- Sign-up at the library starting Tuesday, June 9 to pick up your reading log.
- Choose to log by minutes with a goal of 16 hours or books with a goal of 60 books to track your summer reading.
- For 8 hours or 30 books earn halfway reading rewards starting on July 6 and enter your name in the grand prize raffle
- For 16 hours and 60 books earn finisher reading rewards starting on August 3 and enter your name a second time in the grand prize raffle .
- The last day of the Summer Reading Program is Saturday, August 15.

D&D Club: Tuesday June 16, July 21 & August 18 at 4 PM
- Calling all adventurers for this D&D Club! Get "hired" by the Adventurers Guild in fun one-shot quests! Registration required.
Cookie Painting: Thursday, June 18 at 4PM
- Create edible art with frosting and sugar cookies! Try out different painting techniques to frost your canvas. The best part is you can to eat your creation! Registration is required.
Paleo Mystery Escape Room: Thursday July 23 at 4PM
- Get ready to use your skills as a Paleontologist to investigate missing artifacts. Use teamwork to solve riddles, discover clues, and solve the case. Registration is required.
Make Bead Animal Keychains: Thursday July 23 at 4PM
- Join us at the library for a fun teen craft program and create colorful bead animal keychains using simple patterns and bright pony beads. All materials are provided, and everyone will leave with a handmade keychain to show off or share. No registration required.
Adult Reading Program – Ages 18+
- Set the pace this summer by setting your own reading goal. Pick any number of books between 2 and 40 to strive to complete before the end of the program on August 15.
- Sign-up at the library starting Tuesday, June 9 to pick up your reading log sheet.
- Completing half of your reading goal will earn you one grand prize drawing ticket for Chamber Bucks. Achieving your full reading goal will earn an additional grand prize drawing ticket AND a free book.
- Want an extra challenge to push your reading this summer? Take on the challenge of Reading Through the Eras! On the back of your reading log, find your path through the last 100 years by reading a book that was published in, takes place in, or has themes of each decade from the 1920s through today. See what new authors or books you may find and love with this extra bit of fun!
- Finishing prizes will be available starting August 3. The grand prize winners will be drawn at the end of the program
