Employment Opportunity: Full-Time Adult Services & Outreach Librarian
The George Culver Community Library is immediately hiring a new Adult Services and Outreach Librarian! We are a forward-thinking library with a community mindset, dedicated to providing our patrons with diverse resources, technology assistance, and top-notch traditional library services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning, leading, and evaluating active and passive adult programs to meet the needs of the community; Selecting material for and maintaining adult collections; Promoting library services to the community through participation in community events, home deliveries, and partnering with community organizations; Design promotional materials for library events and services; Coordinate library marketing efforts, including managing the social media accounts; Performing patron services at the circulation desk: check materials in and out, process library card applications, shelve books, periodicals, and other materials, etc.
 

Hours and Salary:
This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week, including one evening shift per week and Saturday hours as needed for programs and staff coverage. Starting salary range is $20.95 to $23.15 per hour. This position qualifies for benefits.
 

Minimum qualifications:
Completion of GED or High School Diploma, plus two years of previous experience in a library, non-profit, or educational setting. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of completed college courses and experience working in a library.

Ability to work effectively and enthusiastically with a diverse population of library users and create meaningful opportunities to connect adults with the library. Ability to perform with minimal supervision, to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to demonstrate professional standards, good judgment, dependability, and timeliness.
