9 Kids Finish 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!

So far in 2015, 9 super kids have finished their goal of reading 1,000 books before kindergarten! We think that one of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time with your kids each day sharing stories. If you have a child who has not yet entered 5K, consider signing them up for our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Club. Reading with your child will build a solid foundation of pre-reading skills that will ensure your child enters 5K ready to succeed in school!

Summer Reading Challenge

This year the library is challenging everyone to read all summer long! Sign-up starts Tuesday, June 9 for kids and teens. Come to the library or sign up online. Adults do not need to register. The reading logs you receive will look different than in years past (except for Teens). You will be asked to keep track of how much you are reading each week, total it up, and turn it in at the library. You may set your own goals for yourself or your kids if you wish, but the staff will not be checking in on you. Prizes will be up for grabs at all age levels.
